Holy Comforter Episcopal Church

Kathy Aldridge, Music Team Director

Thursday nights at 7pm we have practice at HCEC and 9:15am Sunday mornings before the 10:30am Service...Join us happy folks as we praise and worship in song!

HOLY COMFORTER MUSIC MINISTRY

The Music Ministry includes adults and children making music to the Glory of God.  The Music Ministry currently has two distinct groups: Joyful Noise and the Music Team.  See “Something New” below for information regarding The Gathering Praise Band.

Joyful Noise, lead by Carol Chambers, is an extension of the Children’s Sunday School program, directed by Sandy Ferguson.  The awesome children treat the congregation to special music 6-8 times per year.  Their previous repertoire has included the inclusion at times of American Sign Language, bell ringing and simple choreography. Christmas Eve 2007, the Music Team augmented the Joyful Noise experience and a wonderful time was had by all.

The Music Team currently serves as the main music ministry for the 10:30am Sunday service in a Blended Style.  The blended style consists of traditional Episcopal hymns & music as well as Gospel, Praise & Worship and Contemporary selections.  The team consists of instrumentalists as well as vocalists.  We currently use piano, keyboard, acoustic guitars, bass guitar, hammered dulcimer, drums and other percussion instruments and vocals.  We are blessed with quality musicians who love raising their music to the Lord and to His glory. Please let us know if you would like to be a part of the Music Team.

SOMETHING NEW!  Beginning the Saturdays during the celebration of the 50 Days of Easter ( March 29 –May 10) there will be a celebration of the Eucharist with a new contemporary service called The Gathering at 6pm on Saturdays.  Even though this contemporary service is scheduled during the “50 days of Easter”, we’re hopeful that it will resume in September 2008.  Please come be part of a new direction for HCEC worship.  Please let us know if you would like to be part of The Gathering Praise Band.
