Altar Guild
Altar Guild is an essential ministry at Holy Comforter. Membership is at the invitation of the rector after an interest in serving is expressed.
Altar Guild teams organize, clean, and prepare the Nave and Altar for Sunday worship. Several times a year, their duties include workdays to prepare for liturgical Holy Seasons. Care of service linens, laundering and ironing, is done weekly. Duties of the Altar Guild are most often performed when others are not present, so their work often goes unnoticed. However, members devote many hours throughout the year setting up, re-setting between services, and clearing, cleaning, and polishing after services.
