Standing Notices
Regarding Holy Communion: All baptized Christians, regardless of denominational affiliation, are welcomed and encouraged to receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church.
Intinction: During flu seasons and at times of illness or vulnerability, you may choose to receive communion via intinction. Intinction involves receiving both the Body and Blood of Christ without drinking from the common cup. To receive in this way, simply leave the wafer in your hand after it has been placed there by the priest. The Lay Eucharistic Minister with the chalice will take it from you, dip it in the wine, and place it on your tongue in your open mouth. Please refrain from dipping the wafer into the wine yourself.
Communion to the Sick: If you are ill, in the hospital, or otherwise incapacitated and unable to attend Sunday morning worship, you may have the Sacrament of Holy Communion brought to you by a Licensed Lay Eucharistic Visitor (on Sundays only) or by Fr. Steve (during the week). Call the Church Office at 281-353-9169 to request.
Membership: Those desiring to become members of Holy Comforter should contact Sandra Bekech, Lay Ministry Coordinator or Fr. Steve.
Discovery Classes: Held twice a year in the Spring and Fall. Call Fr. Steve or Sandra Bekech, Lay Ministry Coordinator, for exact dates and times.
Marriage: The Sacrament of Marriage is intended to be a lifelong union between a man and a woman. Those desiring marriage at Holy Comforter should consult the rector at least ninety (90) days prior to the expected date of marriage.
Burial: Burial services are available to members of any Christian denomination.
Illness: If you are going into the hospital or desire a visit from Fr. Steve or the Pastoral Care Team, please call the Church Office at 281-353-9169.
Sermon Tapes Available: Tapes of the readings and the sermon are available each Sunday. If you would like a copy, please contact the Church Office.
