Holy Comforter Episcopal Church

Church Leadership

In the Episcopal tradition, the Vestry, together with the clergy and church staff, comprise the leadership team of the parish. All work together to pray, plan, prioritize and implement God's vision for their church. Elections are held each year as members are elected for one, two or three year terms. The current Vestry at Holy Comforter is composed of the following very dedicated parishioners.

Senior Warden: Ace Astala       Junior Warden:  Lee Stein
Vestry Clerk: Sue Vance           Treasurer: Frank Teers
2008 Vestry Members
Besides the minimal canonical requirements to care for the finances and buildings of the parish, the primary responsibilities of the Vestry/Staff team are to lead the parish by:

Larry Redding    Ace Astala         Joy Woods

Allison Ayers       Lee Stein      Lonnie Spraberry

Steve Hotchkiss    Mark Walters    Ed Alvarez

  • helping to discern the vision toward which God is drawing our community
  • articulating and communicating that vision
  • holding the community accountable for its realization of that vision
  • keeping the mission of the Church and of Holy Comforter clearly before the community.

If you feel God is calling you to this important opportunity to serve others and our Lord through service on the Vestry, please contact a member of the Vestry or the Church Office several months before the next vestry election in October.
