HCEC Goals and Objectives

The Vestry has completed the work of our re-visioning by creating a new Vision statement and developing goals for the next three years and objectives (or steps) in reaching the goals. The following are the Goals and Objectives defined and the Vestry will work with the appropriate teams in addressing each. If you have any questions or comments, please see any Vestry member.

In an overview of the setting of goals and objectives, all lead back to the fulfillment of the Vision. It is considered to be a five year planning/implementation process with the first phase of goals completing in three years. The objectives are the steps to completing the goals and will be established annually. Both goals and objectives should be reviewed regularly with progress reports.

Goal:  Implement a comprehensive and ongoing Discipleship program that includes: training for small group leaders, teachers and mentors.

Objective:  Form a discipleship program / team to provide detailed design and two year implementation program. 

Goal:  Increase awareness and visibility of Holy Comforter in the community by making facilities available to various community groups and ecumenical activities.

Objectives:  Form a facility usage team to identify target groups; establish usage procedures and address calendar issues.

Objectives:  Host Ecumenical event with local churches.

Goal:  Achieve and sustain annual growth in average weekly attendance of 8%.

Objectives:  Offer programs of interest to non-member and members such as: CPR, Estate Planning, Fire Safety, First Aid, Baby Sitting, etc.

Objectives:  Promote special events in neighborhoods such as: Pet Blessings,
Christmas services, etc.

Objectives:  Appeal/reach out to un-churched throughout our neighborhoods.

Goal: Youth - Develop plan for comprehensive youth ministry program to include
acolytes, EYC, confirmation classes, Christian Education classes and Diocesan
events.
